  27. 1) General Information
  28. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  29.    This program helps you with  various calculations  in  different
  30.    music situations. These calculations are not very hard to figure
  31.    out by yourself (if you were listening  to your  math-teacher at
  32.    school  that will say)  but when  I make  music,  I want to make
  33.    music. NOT doing calculations. Even how easy they might be.
  34.  
  35.    As you might have seen, this program is not the only which makes
  36.    "music" calculations, but what makes this program different is :
  37.  
  38.         a) Shareware. Total cost: a stamp and a disk.
  39.  
  40.                 b) VERY easy to handle.
  41.  
  42.                 c) Direct support from the programmer.
  43.                    that will say, by me...:-)
  44.  
  45.                 d) Very stable, on almost ANY setup. It won't 
  46.                    make your computer go mental.
  47.  
  48.                 e) You can use the program as BOTH an accessory,
  49.                    and as a program. Just change the extension.
  50.  
  51.                 f) It doesn't use a lot of memory.
  52.  
  53.                 g) It supports most resoultions.
  54.  
  55.    Besides,  if  YOU  support   the   program,  I   will  certainly
  56.    continuing making updates. And I do have some plans for it. Read

  60. 2) Shareware
  61. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.    Delay Calculator is NOT Public Domain.  It's SHAREWARE. It costs
  63.    one  double sided disk to get registered  (no name is alright!).
  64.    Extremely expensive, don't you think? PLEASE show that shareware
  65.    works. If you want the latest version please contact me and I'll
  66.    tell you if there are any new versions in sight.

  68.    When you register, please let me know your set-up, including
  69.    all MIDI-related stuff, and where you found the program.

  80.    Currently, the program is  available  only in English. A version
  81.    in  French is  under  rethinking.  I could  also  make a  German

  99.    What it does:
  100.  
  101.    As your  brilliant track is going in a specfied tempo  (in BPM),
  102.    the delay  is also set in a tempo  (but in mS).  What this  part
  103.    actually do is  converting  BPM to mS.  You can  make the  delay
  104.    bounce  in right tempo  but with  some more  swing by  using the
  105.    different styles.  Try them out,  and you'll hear which ones you
  106.    like and which one's you don't.

  108.    How you do it:

  110.    Just enter the tempo in the BPM box.  And press  "Calculate"  or
  111.    press  <Return>  and a box will pop up with the delay values. If
  112.    you want to use a style,  select the desired style  ("Swing" for
  113.    example) and then do the same thing as above.  Press "Calculate"
  114.    in other words.

  117. 4) Hertz Calculator
  118. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  119.    What it does:
  120.  
  121.    This function converts the BPM to Hertz.  This is VERY useful if
  122.    you own a  synthesizer  were  you set  -for example-  the LFO in
  123.    Hertz.  I know only  one synth that  does that,  and that is the
  124.    Kurzweil K2000. Yes. I own this monster. And I'm very happy that
  125.    I do.

  127.    NOTE! That the this function will  not  be affected by the style
  128.    setting.  I might make it so, but... well. The day I have time I
  129.    might do that.

  131.    How you do it:
  132.  
  133.    Just enter  the tempo in the BPM box,  and then  press the  "Hz"
  134.    button, and a box will show with some acceptable values.

  137. 5) BPM Calculator
  138. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  139.    What it does:
  140.  
  141.    You can use this function  when you want to figure out the tempo
  142.    of  a track, a sampled beat,an acapella or whatever it could be.

  144.    How you do it:
  145.  
  146.    After you have pressed the  OK  button,  the program  will start
  147.    recording your input.  Hit the space-bar for each beat. The best
  148.    way to  get the  best result,  is to  play  the  track  (or what
  149.    it could be)  and hitting  the space-bar  as  the  track  plays.
  150.    Usually  8  hits should be perfectly enough,  but the more beats
  151.    you are entering  the better result.  I have put a maximum limit
  152.    to 50 beats.

  154.   Press ESC whenever you want to stop, or exit to the main menu.

  157. 6) The program will work as an accessory and as a program
  158. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  159.    The program works both as an accessory  (ACC),  and as a program
  160.    (PRG). Just change the extension.

  165.    It has been tested on following models :

  167.    STFM (TOS 1.02/1MB),
  168.    STe  (TOS 1.062/2MB),
  169.    Mega ST (TOS 2.06/4MB),
  170.    TT (TOS 3.06/8MB with or without Fast-RAM),
  171.    Falcon030 (TOS 4.02/14MB).

  173.    It has also been tested together with follwing programs :

  184.    DarkLord v3.10        Some minor bugs.  When having the DarkLord
  185.                          window open,  and using the  Calculator on
  186.                          top of it,  it can happen that the  mouse-
  187.                          pointer  disappear!  Strange indeed.  I'll
  188.                          have  to  check  with  the  programmer  of
  189.                          DarkLord.
  190.                          Otherwise. It work without any problems.

  192.    Delay Calc. v1.1E     Yes. Incredible, isn't it?  No compability
  193.                          programs with itself.

  195.    Gembench v3.40        No problems.

  197.    K4-Editor by Geerdes  PROBLEMS! But NOT caused by my Delay Calc.
  198.                          Same problems  happens with  the excellent
  199.                          screen-savers  Before Dawn  and  DarkLord.
  200.                          The graphics are not correct re-drawn.

  202.    MIDI Quest Jr. v2.16  No problems.  But  you  can't  access  any
  203.                          accessories within  MIDI Quest Jr.  It has
  204.                          got an GUI of it's own, unfortunately.

  211. 8) Known bugs / restrictions
  212. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  213.    It will NOT work in ST-Low or in TT-Low. And there will probably
  214.    be no support for those resolutions either.  Who run a sequencer
  215.    in Low-resolution?

  217.    If you have for ex. 4  windowns open on the desktop and you open
  218.    DC as an accessory,  it MIGHT  happen that some fragments of the
  219.    dialogs  will stay  in the windows  for a while.  When  you exit
